The Bubble World Delusion
The following is a horrible “poem” written at 3:20 AM because I need to rant ambiguously about a certain someone. I will no doubt regret it by morning.
Close your eyes and dream
that there is only happiness
Open your eyes and look
at the pretty simulacra
of puppies and K-pop
of new shoes and cake
of smiling friends and-
POP!
There goes your bubble
because your friend isn’t smiling
right now
How dare she burst your world
that self-righteous bitch
How dare she remind you of the reality
that isn’t always happy
full of natural disasters
full of victims of corruption
full of broken families
right in front of you
right now
Close your eyes and dream
and I see you dreaming
Open your eyes and look
but you don’t want to see
Praying is enough
just pray for happiness
A bubble is enough
just stay
just stay
just stay
and you will be safe
from her missing smile
You are not at fault for being self centered
as long as she is at fault for being self righteous
enough to help another
because helping another is the proof that the world is
imperfect
Everyone is obligated to be happy for the sake of your delusion
because it’s your god given right
your god damn given right
to only live
in your Bubble World
